D.C. Aiken, Senior Vice President of CBC National Bank Mortgage Division, has joined The Expert Network (@theexpertnet), an invitation-only service for distinguished professionals. Mr. Aiken has been chosen as a Distinguished Mortgage Professional based on peer reviews and ratings, dozens of recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout his career.

Mr. Aiken outshines others in his field due to his numerous awards and recognitions, outstanding customer service, and career longevity. He earned his B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary in 1984. Mr. Aiken entered the mortgage industry straight out of college and quickly climbed through the ranks, earning the title of the Number One Loan Office as an E.V.P. at HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation, where he worked for more than thirteen years. His generation and pricing of new mortgage products earned Mr. Aiken recognition within the mortgage world, and he moved on to the position of V.P. for Bank of America and then for SunTrust Mortgage, followed by Community and Southern Bank. He moved over to CBC National Bank in 2013 to become the Senior Vice President of the Mortgage Division. He has been featured in Top Agent Magazine (November 2016 issue), has been the recipient of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia's Diamond and Platinum Awards, and was named in the Nation's Top 50 Mortgage Originators by Mortgage Originator Magazine.

With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Aiken brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry. When asked what inspired him to pursue a career in mortgages, Mr. Aiken said:

"I wanted to be in the banking field and I spoke to a gentleman who, at the time, was with Norwest Bank, which doesn't exist anymore. I began training as a mortgage banker and it was a great opportunity right out of college."

Mr. Aiken's long career as a mortgage banker has given him a solid understanding of the local real estate market and how to find the best mortgage financing solution to fit his clients' specific needs. He has tailored his career around customer service, using his friendly personality and personal touch to guide clients through one of the scariest and biggest investments of their lives. He prides himself on his 24/7 availability and quick response time, treating clients how he believes he would want to be treated. Having personally closed over $1 billion of loan transactions, his knowledge and expertise give customers the confidence that their mortgage process will be smooth and stress-free. Mr. Aiken also writes CBC National's rate watch for internal, doing the forecasting for the bank from the mortgage side.

As a thought-leader in his industry, Mr. Aiken keeps his eye on prevailing trends within the mortgage industry. Focusing on new construction, Mr. Aiken is uniquely positioned to note growth and change in his community. He noted:

"I predominantly do new construction sales, and over the last few years there's been a big shift in the market. It seems like it's really speeding up, and I feel lucky to work in a big metropolitan area where the market continues to grow."
